What Markets Expect From Earnings This Week (MCD, KO, SHOP, DASH, HOOD, RDDT, DDOG)

Updated 7 Feb 2025

With earnings last week offering up some very big movers, the message of continued capex from the hyper-scalers helped Nvidia pop more than 13% on the week, with it's own earnings not due until late this month. Pinterest gained ~20% on the back of it's results, as Google and Amazon both pulled back in the immediate aftermath. Now looking ahead to this week, and there are plenty of stocks to watch, including retail favourites Robinhood, Reddit, and Coinbase.

Other major sectors, including consumer discretionary, technology, and healthcare are also on watch and will see plenty of air time and clues as to broader sector trends. Key themes to watch include cost pressures, digital transformation, and macroeconomic factors impacting revenue and profitability.

As has been a theme of the earnings season, some big names that have beat on top and bottom lines have been harshly punished for disappointing guidance, so a more detailed look through the reports for guidance and future plans will be key, potentially moreso than headline numbers in certain instances.
