Looking to the companies reporting this week, and there are a mix of names we have picked out across the sectors. With many of the largest stocks on the market having already reported, there could be some valuable nuggets for the period to come from the competition.

The fresh week of trading kicks off amid the backdrop of continued tariff uncertainty, changeable policy, and U.S stock markets that have come under pressure, significantly underperforming European counterparts year-to-date after years of outperformance.

earnings this week - before and after

With the QQQ ETF indicating the Nasdaq 100 starting the week more than 1.25% to the downside, after a 3.76% decline last week, it may take something special from those reporting to sway sentiment against the broader trend. Only a few short weeks ago, the major indices were making fresh highs, and a pullback can certainly be considered healthy after what has been a very strong couple of years. Nevertheless, continued uncertainty, alongside various companies delivering guidance that has failed to meet expectations has shaken out some of the risk.

Let's take a closer look at what markets are expecting in the week ahead.
