RELX Share Price Forecast

RELX was downgraded to Hold from Buy at Berenberg with a new price target of 3,500p, up from 3,300p in a recent research note. Berenberg cited the company’s valuation for its downgrade, stating that with the share price up 38% over the last year, they have decided to take profits. In December 2023, Kepler Cheuvreux analyst also downgraded Relx to Hold from Buy with a 3,100p price target.

Meanwhile, in October 2023, Goldman Sachs upgraded shares of RELX to Buy from Neutral, raising the price target to 3,405p per share, up from 3,046p. Analysts at Goldman Sachs said that the company is well positioned within the generative artificial intelligence (AI) sector to bolster its existing data and IP competitive advantage. Furthermore, they believe the application of technology across the Relx suite of products should speed up the company’s revenue growth. Goldman Sachs also stated that it sees an upside risk to RELX’s margins, given the potential benefits to its operating leverage.

Our View:  The company’s ability to adapt to evolving market needs and its focus on innovation have contributed to its position as a reliable investment opportunity. Its position in generative AI should also provide some investors with confidence in the company’s near and mid-term potential, making it a company to take a closer look at.
